Common Fleabane Unique one off original Monotprint

 

Common Fleabane (Pulicaria dysenterica), derives from the Latin word for flea, "pulex," it has a historical reputation for its ability to repel fleas in the home when dried, strewn, or burned, meaning that was seen as a guardian of the home and domestic protection.

 

This monoprint is a  unique hand printed one off original artwork made from a direct print of a flower or foliage using specialist printmaking inks .  Directly depicting nature in all is perfect imperfections, you will often find a little plant sap or a few accidental marks in these completely unique art works.

 

Printed on A5 (14 by 21cm) heavyweight off white high quality paper. The print will be mounted and is photographed in natural light.

 

The Monoprinting process is a direct, unpredictable and intuitive printmaking process, The prints are a reflection of the perfect imperfections in nature which are hard to completely control, making them even more unique and beautiful.  You can make a single unique print by applying the specialist ink to the leaves directly,  then printing them onto paper to paper to create an intricate and detailed piece of artwork .
